Firstly, the movie created controversy because of the title - Basavanna, the name of a popular social reformer of 12th century and the poster where a gun below a hand with fingers folded in the Chin Mudrā was seen. It had hurt the sentiments of a community. Now, in the latest posters, Upendra is seen with a sword. In one of the posters, the Real Star is waving sword.
