Condemning the spot-fixing in IPL matches, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone on Friday said that the act was sad and shameful.
"I am not cricket fan. It is a shameful act for cricket. Three people have been arrested... All this is not a good thing. IPL is a good platform, there are so many fans... It is a disappointing, shameful act," Ranbir told reporters here at an event.
Echoing similar sentiments, Deepika said, "What has happened is a sad thing. It is shameful. Because of the mistake of one or two people, the entire sporting world gets a bad name."
Deepika's father Prakash Padukone is a former badminton champion.
Ranbir and Deepika were present at the promotional event of their upcoming film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Indian pacer S Sreesanth and other two bowlers, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, from Rajasthan Royals team have been arrested for spot-fixing IPL matches.
